Thank you to everyone for my sweet birthday messages!! You all have made my day so special with your phone calls and messages!! To be really honest, with all the wedding stuff going on I had kind of forgotten about my day!! I know, so unlike me. Both my dad and Ashley had asked me if I was okay, because I hadn't done my usual birthday "month" countdown! I spared you all this year :)
Lauren was the first to call at 7:00 am...I looked at the clock and thought maybe something was wrong because she was calling so early in the day! hahaha! I answered and I got a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" That woke me up! Lauren for the last ten years has probably been the very first friend to always call on my birthday, she hasn't missed a year! Ashlee was soon to follow :) It's already been a great day!! Besides the fact that I'm at work, slaving, as I progressively get older and older every minute,on this very special day, my day :) hahahahhahaha.
For lunch, I'm going with mom and dad to show dad my potential dress...I'm down to 2 dresses. If you really know me, you are fully aware of my inability to make concrete decisions. In a timely manner atleast...so I have submitted my dresses to some careful eyes (friends) and I think I know which is going to be THE ONE!!!!!! I will keep you all discreetly posted!
Thanks again for all of my HAPPY BIRTHDAY msgs and calls!! I'm 24! woo-hoo!

our BeAuTiFuL home!
We are always changing or adding something to our house!! Always! We are constantly looking for new things to add or move around, we enjoy doing that! We are house people. We may not always agree on what needs to go where but we try and compromise, try. Our latest venture was our curtains. Oh, the curtains.
We have had them for several months, only they didn't go up b/c we wanted to wait for the kitties to be de-clawed so that they wouldn't ruin our pretty little curtains. I went out and bought the curtain rods which I knew would be a rather large expense, given the size of our massive windows. Very proud of myself, I chose the perfect color rods and carried them around the store by myself (keep in mind, in the box they were each as tall as me) I looked ridiculous. Proud, nonetheless. I get them home, still full of pride for my great purchase. My pro-active-ness I was sure would please my fiance. I get them home, wrong size!!!! So, we had to make one huge rod until we get the right saw to cut one of the pieces up to make the two. Oops!! that didn't help my case much...
Insert: nagging. Like I've said before I rarely nag. That's JR's area of expertise. I simply absorb and let it slowly escape thru the other ear :) kidding. ish.
So, I nag. Thursday. I nag Friday. OK for the wknd. Still nagging in OK about it. Sunday night, I nag. Monday night. It happened. He finally got so irritated, he put them up in vain. This is the look I got the entire time:
He was none too pleased about hanging up our precious curtains :) By the time he had encountered the stud in the middle wall and lost his patience the curtains were hung! Yay! Just to throw it out there, obviously not aware of my timing (bad Nat) I mentioned that I had also bought holdbacks for the curtains to create that you know, dramatic holdback feel. whatever, you know what I'm trying to say.
I won't submit you all to the horror I endured in making the suggestion to now hang those...on to yesterday. If you don't nag at JR to do something, he'll do it. I've always known that, but I slipped. Yesterday, he felt very loving and offered to hang up the holdbacks and here is the finished product! We love them! It added so much to our house!! Also, are a couple of pics of the new couches and the new armoire that we have decided to keep after much debate. It made the Pettijohn household cut.
Sammy helping his daddy! He's a man's kitty.
The flash lets you see the real color of the curtains.

Like Father, Like Son
I like to nag. I don't nag very often b/c I'm the lazier one of the two so I really don't have much to nag about b/c JR gets to it before I do :) Lately though, I've been nagging about getting an armoire for the TV in the living room. So Saturday afternoon we headed up to good ol' OKC to the Rustic/Western store Kourtney and Joe got their furniture from!
I ofcourse wanted the biggest armoire they had for our "petite" apt. JR was keen on the "smaller" one which looked tiny in that huge store. I have come to self-diagnose myself with "size perception disorder" b/c when we got it back to the Farm it looked HUGE. Enormous, actually! Ha, oops :) Now JR asks me if I still want that huge one. Ugh, whatever :) I have the same problem with tupperware. It's so ridiculous. When saving leftovers I will put a bitty amount of pasta in the biggest container we have and then I get this you-have-no-size-perception look from JR and he directs me to the appropriately sized container. Rambling...
After we picked up our furniture we drove thru Norman to see Blake at his station! So cool! We got the grand tour! It was like out of a movie! We are so proud of Blake! We originally planned on seeing Blake AND Jenn on Friday night but weren't able to make it up until Saturday, but exciting news for them-----they are house hunting and could be making an offer this week! Yay!
We finally got the the Farm late Saturday night and stayed up talking to Nancy and Ronnie for a bit...Sunday morning JR went fishing with Ronnie and I stayed back and slept until 11, ahhhh. I awoke to the sweet, succulent aroma of homemade biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs, bacon and fresh fruit. Delicious morning! A blissful nap followed (yes, I slept again). We always take Okie out for a 4-wheeler run when we're there and it just might be the highlight of his life...he LOVES going out on the 4-wheeler. We had barely gotten to the creek with him and JR went over a hump or something and got stuck. He has never never not been able to get that thing un-stuck so I trekked back up to the house with Okie while JR rocked that dang thing until I thought I was going to tip over onto him ( I was already envisioning the 911 call I was going to have to make)...Nancy and Ronnie came down with the Jeep and pulled it up. Okay, round 2, only this time I didn't go b/c it had gotten too muddy for my liking. I had just showered :) So, the rest of us went back up to the house to do some stuff outside. 15 minutes later-------->
JR comes strolling up walking with Okie, minus the 4-wheeler. Ummm. GOT IT STUCK AGAIN! We all pile in the Jeep, with Ronnie a little "tiffed" with the second time around we have to come to the rescue and pull him out again. It gets funnier!! We're heading back to the house, JR and Okie up front on the 4-wheeler and they buzz thru the creek. We're behind in the Jeep and like father, like son.....we're trudging along and BOOM, we sunk both back tires completely under. JR keeps going totally unaware we are now a part of the creek. Ronnie just gets out, pulls the chains and walks up to the house to get another form of transportation to pull US out now!! We were honking at him and giving him a big ol' thumbs up!! So funny!! He gets the tractor and 1,236 pulls later, the Jeep is free at last! AMEN! I think I may have heard some obscenities out of Ronnie but we'll keep that a secret. JR comes buzzing back down laughing so hard that his dad had gotten stuck now!! Like father, like son!
My fiance is hot, and my dog is cute! I'm a lucky girl!! See?!?!

My bling, I mean....ring
Location, Location, Location
I'm sorry for my delay in posts....the wedding whirl has taken over! It's been rather comical to say the least :) I don't know much about planning weddings but I do know that location is the very first thing to do! Soooo, after a crazy two weeks we may have narrowed it down to "the one". Mayyyybe. We still have some kinks to straighten out but it's looking pretty good. No, I can't tell you where yet! I want it to be a surprise! We shall see!
Some of the coordinator's we've talked to have gotten a good laugh out of me because I haven't even been engaged one month and I'm ready to get everything booked. My high anxiety does not allow for much doddling in such circumstances.
Dress shopping starts next!!! YAY! My favorite part!
Hope you all are having a great week! We may be up in OK this weekend to look for some furniture for the TV, since we gave away a bunch of stuff last weekend to my cousin Fernando. Our TV is on the floor, ha!

Engagement posts, cont...
I apologize for the mass amounts of engagement posts that have been put up of recent, however my mom gave me some pictures that needed to be shared! They are of the night JR went to ask my parents for my hand in marriage...JR said mom didn't cry when she saw the ring but cried when she asked, "Well, when do you think you'll actually propose?", to which his response was, "Next week!!". Um, then she cried. haha! My dad, always the gentleman answered the big question with "Yes, ofcourse". Although this part happened without me around, it is still one of the most important ones to me because my parents and I are so close, and their blessings mean everything to me. They all shared dinner, an Argentine soccer game (haha), a bottle of wine and celebrated the occasion with some pictures ofcourse via mom! Of which, she had ready for me when we got home!

WE'RE ENGAGED!! WE'RE ENGAGED!!
Our trip to Red River turned out a little more special than I had anticipated! I'm sure most of you have heard by now but JR proposed to me on last Thursday July 5th at the top of a mountain!!! The story goes:
We had initially planned on going up the ski lift for a ride up to the top of the mountain. It is a beautiful ride up, as you can see the town of Red nestled below at the bottom of the mountains, such a beautiful view. For some reason, I had been excited about the lift all week long. On Wednesday after the 4th of July games JR and I decided to go try and ride the lift before the storms rolled in. JR had had the ring in his pocket all day long by this point...as soon as we walked up to get on, they closed the lift because of lightening. JR was upset that we couldn't ride that day, and I couldn't really figure out why he was so bummed. He usually doesn't get like that :) Soooo, the next day we rented a Jeep with Kourtney and Joe. That morning we had some breakfast and made our way up to Goose Lake and had an awesome time, but JR wanted to make sure we got to ride the lift that day. So, around noon Kourtney and Joe dropped us off and we headed back to the cabin, and I remember JR telling me we were going home so we could "freshen up" before the lift, haha. I went back to the cabin and re-did a little make-up,etc...still had no clue.
On the way up the lift, they have a guy below that takes your picture so we got ours taken and continued talking the rest of the way up. The whole trip had already been so romantic that I was feeling very lovey and I told him that I couldn't wait to be his wife one day, to which he responded with, "someday"....we got to the top of the mountain and walked around a little checking out all the views. We finally hiked up to the very top, to the prettiest spot.
There were huge dandelions up there and so I told him we should make a wish. We took a picture and made our wishes. **This is no lie** I wished to be engaged to him soon...he asked me what my wish was and I told him I couldn't say, or it wouldn't come true!!! After that I was rock hunting, and posing the camera on some rocks so we could get a few self-portraits! He'd told me all week that he'd bought me something in Red River and I was totally suprised b/c I'd been with him the whole time!! I thought maybe he'd bought me another sweatshirt or something :) So, in the middle of my rock digging, he tells me to close my eyes, b/c he wants to give me my surprise!!!! I heard some rocks tumbling so then I asked him if he'd bought me a rock or something, hahaha! He said, "well! turn around!"
I turned around and he was down on one knee (I then fell to two knees) and he said, "Will you be my wife?"......I COULD NOT BREATHE!!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!! It was the most perfect moment of my life. On the top of the mountain, with JR, up there all by ourselves!! It was surreal and so so beautiful! So we are now on the road to becoming husband and wife!! We will be Mr. and Mrs. JR Pettijohn!!
Thank you baby for the most wonderful day of my life!! I love you so much. I can't wait to be your wife :)
