If you've heard the Macbook Air commerical, which the product in itself seems rather grand...then you've heard this song by Yael Naim. Everytime I hear this song it makes me smile and makes me want to waltz around my house :) Please, enjoy! It's a beautiful song.

MEXICO!!!!
WE BOOKED OUR HONEYMOON!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
We will be spending 7 days in Cancun, Mexico at The Sun Palace Resort! After several months of researching, researching, and researching we have found the perfect location to spend our first week as Mr. and Mrs. Pettijohn!
Our friends Scott and Kat just honeymooned there in November, and highly recommended it and after seeing their 500 pictures :) and reading the amazing reviews we knew it was the place for us!
It is an adults-only boutique resort and not one of the mega-resorts that Mexico is known for! We wanted something a little different since it's our honeymoon!! woooo-hooooo!
Viva Mexico!!!

lovely
Life is lovely. Our weekend was nothing out of the ordinary, but it was so nice, that it stirred up my man-I-am-truly blessed moments.
In the midst of wedding planning, jobs, life, etc...it's so easy to not stop and take the time to be thankful and amazed at how wonderful life is.
Friday night, I went bridal shoe shopping with my mom. My parents have gone above and beyond to give me the most beautiful and spectacular wedding I could have ever imagined, really. It's as if I compiled every pretty picture of a wedding, dress, shoes, invitations and flowers I grew up seeing in magazines and on t.v. and they put it all together and are creating this magical evening for myself and my future husband. There are not enough words to explain my gratitude, and just picking out shoes with my mom and trying to find jussst the right pair...makes me realize just how out of this world blessed I have been. She will sit all night with me and help decide one over the other, and they both are that patient with me in all of this. My whole life, they have made my dreams come true.
We had great friends over Saturday night, some new friends, Scott and Kat. Some wine, good friends, and 4 hours of just chatting! It's so nice to be able to spend night's like that talking about nothing and laughing about everything...
Sunday was a special day too. A very special one. JR and I went and picked out our wedding bands. From our engagement even to my wedding band, he has made this whole experience the most unforgettable, beautiful, and romantic 9 months of my life. There were two bands I had in mind, and he told me to pick which ever one I wanted the most....I did. The band is just as amazing as my ring :) I am beside myself with excitement and amazed at his unconditional love for me. On July 5th, 2007 I wished to be his wife, and one hour later he asked me to be his wife at the top of a mountain in Red River, NM with no one around but us. He too, has made all of my dreams come true.
To celebrate, we went and had dinner with Lauren and Rico. We share life's big moments and small moments with them, and it's always so refreshing to spend time like that. Happy 2 year anniversary to them!!! We love you.
I woke up this morning thinking about my ring!! It is stunning. When I put them both together, I can't even believe it's my own hand :) eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! I can't show you though, it must be a surprise!
Sometimes, you just have to stop and be thankful for a healthy family, a happy home, and a Blessed life. We don't do it often enough, but when you do, you quickly realize just how much there is to be thankful for.

scheduling
It's crunch time. It is 105 days until the wedding, 3 1/2 months!! YAY! Our planning has gone into overdrive, as the wedding is fast approaching! I'm so dang excited!! Everyday I get more and more and more and more and more and more excited.
I have scheduled my bridal portraits for Thursday April 3rd!! eek! I must look fantastic and fabulous and perfect, basically from that day until May 10th!! Well honeymoon too!
Also, on an even more exciting note!! We may have finally chosen our honeymoon location, but I won't reveal it until it's set in stone...
Hint: It is in Mexico!

paint paint paint
I've had painting on the mind for some time now...and this wknd we finally decided to do it! We have only one painted (colored) wall, our black wall in the hallway! I'm a big brown, white, black fan so for our bedroom we chose a mocha, taupe color and against our white crown moulding, blinds, and doors it looks soooooo pretty! Now we want to do an all white poofy bed! Well, I want the poof!
This was our first wall! We didn't move any furniture out, just squeezed it all against which ever side was not being painted, ha! Our bed is way too big to move!
Having some fun before we tackled the BIG wall! I'm short, so I got out of doing the very top!!
Almost!! Sweet boy :)
I got the short people tasks.
Tonight we'll hopefully have everything back in place, and the curtains back up...once it's all finished I'll post pics of our home makeover!!

ofcourse
This stuff only happens to me.
I got stuck in an elevator today. By myself.
Figured a good laugh for you all would be a great way to end the week.

new year, big year
It's going to be a big year for JR and I!! We are fresh from our trip to the beach, and sluggishly trying to thrust ourselves back into the daily grind of the working world.
As I sat beneath the ozone-layer-less sun of Punta del Este I tried to dig within my creative mind to come up with some fantastic job for ourselves that would allow us to live at the beach and work via laptop from the serenity of the ocean......and then I woke up :)
Not gonna happen!
We are back now, Christmas decor still up...I know, I know. Our house looks like a Texas tornado came thru, but neither one of us has had the energy/motivation to eliminate the mass piles of just stuff that is lingering throughout #216 :)
This wknd though, is our mass cleaning-laundry-workout wknd. I hope. Our kitties think they piles are real fun to play in. I'm doing it for them.
As of yesterday, it is exactly 4 months to the day until our day to wed. Husband and wife. T-minus 4 months. Wow. It's time. I'm ready for my husband, and he, ready for his wife!!!!

2008
Now for the New Year's Eve album, we went to El Club del Lago...a golf resort 20 minutes outside of PDE on a lake. We have been doing New Year's there for several years now! They have a full course dinner, wine, champagne, dessert, the one and only Brazilian dancers :) a full band and dancing on into the night! It's always a ton of fun, and I actually got JR to dance! It was a spectacular night!
usa
We are back. Back, back, back. Our journey to and from Uruguay has been adventurous, tiring, and exciting to say the least but I will enlighten you first with pictures as we are recieving threatening emails to post or else....so pictures it is, until I get my bearings back. I am currently in a state of pure unelicited joy because only 3 suitcases we brought back arrived in Dallas yesterday. The 4th no-show had 4 of my new bathing suits my mom bought me for our honeymoon, some new clothes, and all of our shoes. Priceless. We were devastated.
We got a call at 7am this morning, that our precious little, army-green, rolly, suitcase has made it to the us of a safely. It will be delivered to us this evening. relief.
okay, here's the first round of pictures...I had to break it up as there are approximately 400 of them. So I present to you Miami (layover and New Year's Eve Day).
