Our Perfect Wknd!

It really was perfect :) We decided to do a little wknd getaway to Canton, TX. It was so last minute that we really didn't know if we should just stay in a hotel or take a chance on a Bed & Breakfast. We got so lucky! We found the cutest B & B just a couple minutes down the road from the trade grounds. It sits on just a couple acres, but it's out in the country so we got some much needed peace and quiet, ahhh! At one point JR and I looked at each other and laughed b/c it was so quiet out there! We loved it! Here are a couple pics of our stay at the Azalea House:

This was our first time staying in a "hotel" together, since Miami doesn't count as a hotel!!





The house has 8 different suites. The one I picked was the Lodge Room, obviously decorated in the rustic, lodge theme and happened to be the best suite! It's attached to the main house by a huge deck but separated enough for some privacy! Each suite has their own bathroom too! And ofcourse the bathrooms are themed as well!





We got to Canton around noon on Saturday and spend the next several hours just walking the grounds getting ideas for the stuff we wanted to buy. JR's main concern was leaving with some good homemade salsa! haha! Don't worry, he got it! He tried every single salsa sample on the entire 200 acres of trade grounds, no lie! We got to our B & B around 5:30 or so and showered up, because it'd been so hot that day. There's a section of Canton called "The Mountain" that looks straight out of a movie. It's an area up on a hill really, with tons of trees and little shops and diners all with that old western theme. Super cute! We walked around there Satruday night and had dinner up there too!

Sunday morning we woke up at 8:30 for breakfast! We had french toast casserole, fresh fruit, any kind of juice you wanted, coffee, eggs, and bacon! It was delicious! We'd heard there was pretty good storm coming thru, so after breakfast we headed back up to our room and went back to bed and listened to the rain until it cleared up around 11:30. Our checkout was at noon, so it was timed just right! For lunch we stopped in the town square at Val's for some great Italian food! We spent the rest of the afternoon scouring the grounds for the stuff we wanted to get last minute and headed back to the city around 5. Overall it was one of the most fun wknds I think we have had together! We enjoyed each other's company so much and were able to relax and just have a good time together! Memorial Day Wknd

It's funny how our posts are by weekend! It's not that we really just sit at home during the week, but our pictures are always taken during the weekend. Over time, it seems we just get busier and busier...Monday is our offical "Lazy Day", we don't even pretend like we're going to be productive. It's just an understood that nothing will get accomplished on Monday's (Natalie's favorite day). On Tuesday's, JR will have an occasional night of b-bal "practice", I say practice, but it's really like scratch b-ball at the church. It does give Lauren and I an excuse to go to the youth room and do this:


Wednesday's are usually a good Happy Hour day :) Our favorite place to go is Ozona's b/c it's very non-bar like with a huge outdoor patio and we can enjoy $1 draft! Yum-o! Thursday's are game days with the Neave's, always. Well, atleast thru the end of July and Friday's are our only day up for grabs, and it usually depends on if we're going up to OK or not that wknd. When did we get so busy? We used to be at home, wondering if we had any friends :) We are very fortunate to have found some great friends down here and soe fun things to fill up our nights!

This wknd JR and I are planning on spending some time in Canton. I've been wanting to go for a long time, and this seems to be the only wknd available. JR had the idea of maybe staying in a hotel down there or even a B & B!! So, my homework today is to find any place available this late :) oops! Should be fun though!

For Memorial Day we just decided to go up to The Farm, to get some rest. We were originally supp to drive Alex up to California but our plans changed when we realized we didn't have enough time to get back to work, boo. So, my whole family is enjoying sunny Cali right now, without us :( Our wknd was perfect in OK! Saturday, Duncan pretty much flooded, no not pretty much. It did. They had to close down 81!! I've never seen rain like that! We just stayed in all day Saturday and enjoyed the coziness of the rain. Sunday JR woke up, READY TO GO! We took the 4-wheeler out and got muddy and dirty and disgusting, and it was so fun!!! First, we took Okie out to go look at the damage from the water out in the pasture, which turned out okay but you could see how high the creek had gotten over night. Scary! Then, we went down to Rock Bottom and it had turned into a flowing river!! I couldn't believe it, next thing I know JR is halfway across this temporary "raging rapid" and calling for me! I kept thinking how crazy he was for crossing it...next thing I know I'm knee deep in freezing rushing water, praying the stick JR got me to balance doesn't float away with my cold, wet, little body in tow...ahhhh! I was scared! I made it across, not without scaring JR into thinking there was a snake on the other side!! I had to get him back somehow, haha! I love doing that.

On Monday we were supp to go out to the lake, but it was still a little cloudy so JR and I decided to head up to Lawton to the mountains. We try and go every month or so, b/c it is always so beautiful and peaceful out there. You know I had to get my Meers fix. Well, sad story. The line was so long we didn't get to go. *tear* I was very upset, but we had Ann's instead, which I guess sufficed. It was no Meers though.

Courtney's Graduation!

Ryan and I went up to Norman for our friend Courtney's graduation!! It was just for one night but we had a great time!

Basketball!

One of the things JR wanted to do most when we moved down here was to find somewhere to play golf, basketball, football...etc. We've got golf and basketball narrowed down some! He golfs with Jake and Bobby and Ricardo got him into a league every Thursday! It works out great because we get some time with the Neaves' every week now! Guaranteed :)

We're 0-2 right now, but it's a work in progress! haha! It's really a lot of fun to watch the boys play! Here are a couple pics from the first game!
