name change

In the spirit of our upcoming National Sooner Holdiay (i.e. OU/tx), I have decided to temporarily change the kitties names to something a little more appropriate for this grand occasion. I now introduce to you:

Formerly Charlie, now:
Boomer

Formerly Sam, now:
Bob Stoops

let the countdown begin...

ONLY 9 MORE DAYS UNTIL OU/tx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay yay yay yay yay yay yay! This is the official countdown for the greatest time of the year besides Christmas (for me personally) oh, and my birthday! It is a time for Sooners to unite and bask in our own glory and greatness! I am a rather vain fan. No shame. none. I have confidence in our team, but my nerves have kicked in and I will continue counting down the long days until our moment of pure Sooner excellence with our evil match!!

i'm done.

9 days.

killer bee

I have quite the healthy appetite as is widely known. Sticking to my schedule of a late-night snack, I indulged myself with a nice bowl of Capt'n Crunch. I was very excited preparing my bowl, cereal, little bit of milk when I hear this buzzing. I swat whatever was buzzing about my head so that I can peacefully enjoy my snack when I notice that it was a rather loud buzz to be a fly. I remember thinking to myself that maybe TX had really big buzzing flies that I'd forgotten about since my move to OK...that was my rationalization. Until! That "fly" tried to attack me!!!! I was under attack by a HUMONGOUS BEE!!! ahhhhhhhhhhh! What in the world! So I run to our room and get JR, who really didn't feel like saving the day and did not believe me to be honest. I ran in and said, "a bee! a bee! come kill the bee!" He realllly thought I was crazy!

We go in there and the bee is by the sink probably mapping out his next quest to attack me! JR saved the day and killed him, and I could once again enjoy my cereal, but ughh I was very disgruntled to find a killer bee in my kitchen.

The kitties go outside everyday and we sometimes leave the door open to let in some fresh air, and it seems as though the bee thought he'd found himself a home. WRONG. No more open door. I no longer need fresh air.

so fresh, so clean

I'm usually not one to over-react, much less react to this type of thing but I did find this article to be rather interesting in regards to air fresheners. I know we've all used, do use, will use some at some point...let me know your thoughts and reactions to said article:

and it was a strange night...

Last Friday, JR and I went to dinner with a couple he knows from work. We're enjoying our salad and pasta, and the meeting of new people and this guy walks up to our table...

Kind of looking in my direction and clutching his wallet, we thought maybe he was going to ask for some money or something. He says, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I know this is weird and random but I'm a make-up artist and my blonde model backed out on me last minute for a photoshoot Sunday and I really need you!". Looks at me, hands me a receipt with his name and phone number on it, and tells JR, "Don't worry I'm gay! I saw her across the restaurant and I knew she'd be perfect!" Uhhhhhhh okay. Talk about making a dinner awkward! wow! I thought the whole time he was looking in my direction it was because maybe he'd left something at the table from his dinner or something!!??

Long story short, his name is Ramon Blanco and is a make-up artist working on his new business ads, and needed a blonde model. Me and my 5'3 self did a photoshoot for him on Sunday, and it was actually really fun. My makeup was cuh-razy! Nothing you'd wear on a normal day, if ever! JR came, and Scott came later on in the day! It was so neat to have them there with me! There were two other models, so there were atleast 10 people there during the shoot! We will get the professional pics later, but atleast here you can see some of what I got to do! I had to wear a rather hideous wedding gown, but I guess the focus was on the makeup :/

new wedding website

We now have a new wedding website to announce! We changed it because we needed one with a more simple "domain" name as it can be difficult to load for some (i.e. my mom) haha! So, we now have our very own page and you can check it out at:

www.jrandnatalie.com

Hope you like it!

13, 346

That number you see above is my number on the waiting list for OU FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS! I'm not kidding. The wait time on this list is at 6 years right now, so basically by the time I'm 30 I should be in the clear for some highly treasured OU season tickets. I am that hardcore. I am that in love with OU football. I am that in love with OU, period.

I will wait my 6 years. Patiently, for I know what is to come. Glorified views of the success-driven athletes of 6 years from now. I can see it now. I can suddenly see into the future. My future season tickets have provided me the inspiration.

Now, you see...you give anyone some money and they are suddenly your friend. As is the story at the OU Sooner Club. If you donate some $$$ to them, they hold donor seats, of which you can get onto a "shorter" waiting list and obtain your magical seats at an earlier date than the promised 6 yrs on the public list.

JR is not allowing me to donate any more $$$ to the University of Oklahoma, as he points out...that my dad and mom have already donated more than enough to the school :) we'll leave that at that...

I told him I may secretly open an OU bank account where I can make my donations out of if I can't stand to wait 6 long and arduous years for my beloved SOONER FOOTBALL!

some of our engagement pics!!!!!

jr's

i love norman

Okay, so we had the most amazing weekend in Norman! well, actually Moore too! We knew it was going to be a fun weekend, but it truly was F-U-N! The kind of fun you have where you continue talking about it for days :)

We got up there late Friday night and we hung around Norman for a bit and headed to Blake and Jenn's around 12 or so. Blake was home early Saturday morning, and we were out the door by 9am! Headed to Sooner land! We got some breakfast at McD's and made our way to Campus Corner! The whole town was nuts, a sea of crimson everywhere you looked! It was beautiful :) I must say...Blake got us a table at Louie's (which is a small miracle, on game day) while Jenn, JR and I were doing some Sooner shopping. When I get to Norman I feel like I have to buy every item that has an OU on it. I can't help myself. I did fail though, because I couldn't get Jenn to buy an OU shirt. I'm still holding out hope. I will never give up!!

Okay, so now to Sooner FOOTBALL!! What a game!! I was sporting my Malcolm Kelly jersey and we got JR an awesome OU "dad" shirt! He looked so HANDSOME!! I was the luckiest girl in that whole town!! We basically had the best seat in the house and we watched the entire game there. The crowd was so intense and we could hear the stadium from where we were! Ohhhhhhh so fun! After "several" drinks, it was time to make our way back to the Taliaferro house for some naps!! The boys fell asleep watching more football while Jenn and I had our rooms!

After nap time, was dinner time and MAN! Blake made some of the best hamburgers, and so we had an Oklahoma cook out! We decided to stay in that night and just all hang out and watch football together. Their house is so perfect and decorated so nice! It was a joy to spend time with them in their brand new home! Blake and Jenn, thanks again for having us...we had the most unbelievable time with you guys!! It's fair time now!! Big Tex is waiting :)

alas, an update!

I know, I know. I have been major slacking. I've been known to do that in my day :)

In continuation of my last post: I have only worked out once. Yes, once. I did a little run/walk combo and I am just now able to sit down without saying hateful words about working out. I did however, wear my spandex shorts and I felt very athletic. **mission accomplished** Grade: E for effort!

Our lives have gotten so ridiculously busy, I can't hardly believe it! JR's job is going wonderful, I switched to a new office...well it's down the hall but I am in my very own corner office with huge windows! It's lovely and highly professional (looking)! I will need to take some pics to post! Jen, you would be very proud! The wedding stuff is moving along at lightening speed thanks to my parents who have set up a weekly meeting with JR and I to make sure we are on top of everything :) I am very "girly", but I have found that in wedding planning I display rather manish qualities. The color picking, flowers, music, la, la, la, etc....overwhelms me, and would do me no harm to just show up the day of and get to marry JR!!! haha!

Really, the only big things we have left to do are: pick out the invitations, choose our registries, and finish our wedding website!! I've slacked on that as well :) As for what we do besides wedding planning, last weekend we took my cousin Fernando, to the North TX State Fair. and what a fair it was!?!

and now, what's a fair without a redneck window?? It was a rodeo/fair/carnival mix. It did turn out to be pretty fun, b/c Sammy Kershaw played and he was awesome live. He is a little before my time, country-music wise, but I found that I knew alot of the songs! JR was very in his element :)We didn't get to watch much of the bull riding, b/c we were late but Fernando did win a hat thrown by the Miller girls! I think he was pleased with his catch, haha!

Fer and I are such cool cousins that we even wear our sunglasses at night! Superstars!! It almost says Pettijohn!

Trying to win me something!!

time to get skinny

With my impending wedding only T-minus 9 months away, I have felt the sudden urge to get physical. Like that song..."lets get physical, physical", although I think that song may have a different connotation. whatever.

I found this fabulous website to help motivate me with my daily lack of fitness motivation. It offers awesome tips about working out, healthy recipes, and just overall health wellness. It's blog-style, which makes me like it even more! The link is http://www.fitsugar.com/ for those interested in jumping on the wellness bandwagon! I want to look perfect for my husband :)

Okay, none of that is why I posted: ofcourse! The reason why are these:

And here is the excerpt attached: These So Low Cropped Pants ($62.00) are cute enough to wear in and out of the gym. The fold over waistband lets you make them as low or high as you want and the flared leg is flattering for most body types. They come in black, heather, charcoal and navy. I'll be investing in the charcoal and black. Buy them from Shopbop.com.

You see, I get my motivation with cute clothes. Laugh, laugh, but atleast I'm getting it somewhere. I recently purchased my first pair of Adidas "spandex" running shorts. I do realize that no one is ever fully capable nor should be allowed to wear spandex, but it is my way of making myself feel fat enough in something to get my lazy butt outside and walk or run (grr). JR doesn't love the idea of me being in spandex running around Dallas either...I think it's a combination of "hey-don't-look-at-my-fiance-in-spandex" and a splash of embarrassment that he has a fiance that does so. I'm okay with it.

So, I thought I'd share my daily find! They excited me! Perhaps they will get me outside today!!

Today is our 2 year!!!

It is our two year anniversary today!! We cannot believe it has been two years since we got together! Last year we celebrated the day out in Fort Worth, and with a dinner at the Antares! We may do something a little more low-key this year, with dinner at home and enjoy the fact that in 9 months we will be husband and wife!

We both feel so fortunate to have each other, and our love only grows stronger every day. I have found the most loving, sweet, and handsome man around! I know how lucky I am, and there is not a day with him that I don't stop and am thankful to have him in my life as my future husband. He lives life to the fullest :) but knows how to take it all in and value most those that are important in his life. We have made an incredible life for ourselves with thanks to our families and friends, and every year together just keeps getting better and better! We still can't take it all in! Everyday I look forward to coming home to him, every-single-day!

There was a day a few years back, that I missed him and I knew I never wanted to spend a day without him! Now I don't have to! Babe, I love you more than I ever knew I could love someone. You have made all of dreams come true. I am forever grateful you and the love you give me. I cannot wait to be your wife! Happy Anniversary baby!! I love you.

my farm birthday!!

Our favorite weekends at the Farm, are the ones when we're all there! The Victery's made it down and we made it up for a nice, relaxing wknd there. We drove up Friday night, while Kourtney and Joe went to Dry Beaver for dinner! for some sweet steak :) Saturday morning NaNa and PaPa came over and we got some good chat time with them! On these kind of weekends, the only excuse to leave the house is to fish! Ofcourse, JR and Joe did just that...some Saturday afternoon fishing...in a monsoon. For most people slamming rain would obviously deter you from sitting out in the middle of the pond trying to weasel a fish onto your lure. Nope, not them. They came home soaking wet, but super excited at the 35 fish they caught in 2 hours!! Big ones too!

That evening was my birthday party!! The babies always need a party when it's someone's birthday! Nancy made my favorite meal, country-style ribs, corn, fried potatoes, and Texas Toast. Oh my, it was so good. After dinner it was present time! I got the most wonderful gifts from everyone, especially my homemade necklace and bracelet from Emma. I will need to post pics later of all my gifts! I got some awesome presents from our trip to New Mexico, which ofcourse turned out to be the best trip of my life!!!

For dessert we had homemade apple pie, with apples that Ronnie had picked, dough Emma made, and a Mississippi Mud Pie by Kourtney and alot of rain!! Oklahoma got drenched that night with a tropical storm?! Weird!! Monsoon style rains, and crazy winds!

The next morning we had some cleaning up to do! We had a pork chop lunch, after some yard work, and swimming with the kids! It was an awesome family weekend, and we're always sad to leave everyone :( We'll be back up though in two weeks, because we chose to do our engagement pictures up there with Amy from The Brownstone...so we'll see you guys soon!!

Thanks again to everyone for my wonderful birthday party!! I love you so much!

Please be patient with the wedding website, as it takes forever to work on!! I should have the bridal party complete within the next week or so!! We do a little each day! Happy Friday!

our wedding website!!!!! check it out!!

Finally! I found a wedding website that I liked! I've started to make several, but thanks to JR's friend at work...I found this one from Wedding Announcer! It's obviously in the very beginning stages, but we will use this website to post helpful info about our wedding and some fun stuff, every step of the way! Let me know what you think!! YAY!!

the duck and the devil

I think this went from Joe to JR, and finally to me. I read so many of these "forwards", but this one I really liked and wanted to share with you! Hope you all have a blessed day!

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He
was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the
woods; but he could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged,
he headed back for dinner. As he was walking back he saw Grandma's
pet duck.

Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in
the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved!

In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his
sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes."
But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the
kitchen." Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So
Johnny did the dishes.

Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and
Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper."

Sally just smiled and said, "Well that's all right because Johnny told
me he wanted to help." She whispered again, "Remember the duck?" So
Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's; he
finally couldn't stand it any longer.

He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck.

Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You
see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because
I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would
let Sally make a slave of you."
Thought for the day and every day thereafter?

Whatever is in your past, whatever you have done... and the devil keeps
throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits,
hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.)...whatever it is...You need to know
that God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing. He
has seen your whole life. He wants you to know that He loves you and that
you are forgiven.

He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you.
The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness; He not
only forgives you, but He forgets. It is by God's grace and mercy that we are saved.

Go ahead and make the difference in someone's life today. Share this
with a friend and always remember:

God is at the window!?

the search...

We are on the search for the perfect honeymoon spot! There are SO many places to choose from! ah!
