Yep!! Last night we signed the contract to build our very first HOUSE!!! This has been a very lengthy process, and we feel so blessed to have found the perfect town, perfect neighborhood, and perfect lot for us.

There is still much to do before it's all said and done, but this ofcourse is our first big milestone with our future home!! and we wanted to share the news with YOU!

the cupcake

I got to spend a short, but wonderful time visiting Ash in Austin on Saturday----and the highlight of my trip was this:

Only in Austin can you buy a HUGE, delicious cupcake out of an Airstream trailer :)

Oh! and I also came home with a pair of vintage cowboy boots, pure satisfaction. They are out of this world....

Keep Austin weird.

caffeine

This is why my husband has to control my caffeine intake----I start to do something very similar to this....happy weekend-ing!

giveaway!

My craftiness is in OVERDRIVE lately, and one of my latest projects turned out GREAT! I love it so much, I will be selling them for the holiday season! I won't say what it is just yet but on Monday I will post pictures for you all to see!

The even BIGGER surprise is that one lucky "reader" will win one!! yay! Would anyone be willing to participate? I'll keep you in suspense over the wknd :)
Be ready for Monday y'all!

our wknd

While husband gets to go here this wknd.....

He got invited to go on a guided fishing trip on Matagorda Island this wknd for business!! He's flying down to Houston as I type...

Since he gets to delight himself with manly activities, I find it fitting, to indulge a bit myself in my happenings :)

I found some pretties at Forever 21. Give me your thoughts...I have no fear/shame adorning my make-your-butt-look-spectacular jeans (designer) with some fancy frocks from Fo-Eva. It's called mix & mingle, ladies.

1) The denim vest: don't cringe yet. I came home from Bs. As. with one, much to the applause of my ma. She looooved it. Pair it with anything, and this one's a steal! $20 or so...

2) Preppy Chic: um, yes. Skinny jeans and/or tan leather boots---nude pumps! You could always throw in a pair of a glasses, yessss.

3) Ruffled chiffon: speaks for itself. i love you.

4) Floral hairclip 1: one of my favorite things to accessorize with. hands DOWN. Even with a t-shirt, a flower on yo' head can make anything pretty! I even did at my wedding, but ofcourse! see!

5) Floral hairclip 2: the color is perfect. must have.

6) The beret: last and least. I look very stupid in these, but hope that one day they will magically look good on me. Until then, I can just admire it's knitted wonder. Is there anyone out there that looks fabulous in one? If so, I am envious. It makes me want to stroll the streets of NYC, drinking a salted caramel hot chocolate from Sbux with movie style Christmas music playing in the "background"....

and, done. I got carried away.

a swap!!!

Meet Modern Eve! She's a sweet DFW'er with an awesome blog, and she is hosting an ORNAMENT SWAP! yay! After our super successful Halloween swap, I knew some of you would be interested in this! Check her out, for info!

You must be signed up by this Sunday!

taco delight

Last night, was Taco Soup---and a Mexican delight it was!

This feeds a small army, so adapt it to your numbers :)

2 lbs ground beef (cooked, drained)
2 cans Ranch Style Beans
2 cans corn
1 can tomatoes (I like them diced)
1 can Rotel
1 pkg Dry Ranch Dressing Mix
1 pkg Taco Seasoning

Throw everything into a large pot, simmer 20-30 minutes until hot! Enjoy!

I shredded some monterey jack on top that melts deliciously into the soup----served it with some tortilla chips, and some guacamole to dip!

I love the combination of dark floors, a touch of floral, and the intense white of this room---what a pretty contrast.

I'm drawn to this room.

The owner of said prettiness, I'm not a giant fan of---Denise Richards, bleh.

dfw'ers

I have this idea:

Considering that I clearly (and so happy about that) am not the only fan of Twilight, you must all be aware that the new movie is opening shortly...

Would any fellow real-life/blogger friends like to all meet up and go see it together? Does that sound fun, or is it creepy? any dfw'ers out there interested?

That way, some of us blogger friends could meet AND see the movie! A meet n' greet :)

Give me your thoughts...

yes, really

Vampires. Reeeeeally? A few of you recommended the Twilight series, a few posts back, but I just couldn't bring myself to read about, vampires.

I'm not one for ghosts, monsters, and vampires, but EEK! I-could-not-put-this-book-down...

Bella and Edward, the Cullens, Fork, oh my!! I took it on my trip with me, in case my iPod failed me, and I think I only used it once...

Embarrassed of the cover (mine is the movie cover, with the both of them) I would hold it down when passing people so as not to blow my cover of a 25 yr old, reading a forbidden love story about vampires. I'm truly and utterly captivated by the read, withholding my secret admiration for this story, I feel like an addict...so I'm begrudgingly sharing with you my embarrassment.

Does anyone else suffer from Twilight-ism? I know there has to be atleast one of you...

it's that time, folks

With turkey and stuffing fast approaching, Christmas decorations begin to fill up my days!! Here's a pretty I found at Ballard Designs, a favorite.

In the letter "P", I think it would look oh so lovely ;)

re-do

I'm none too pleased with the aesthetics of my blog, so please excuse the mess as I play around with different ideas...
