The countdown begins...

Okay, only two more days until my braces! AH! I'm starting to freak out! I'M GOING TO DO IT, I'M GOING TO DO IT, I'M GOING TO DO IT! I have to keep repeating that to myself so that I don't chicken out (fear). Okay, so a little recap of our Halloween weekend! Scott came in town Friday night, and we said farewell to Jesse (sp?) and Miss Kitty! Saturday morning we met Ash, Brandon and Johna at Six Flags for a jam-packed day at the park. Man, it was FULL! They had to shut it down around 6 pm because the park was at maximum capacity. Way too much for me to handle. That night we headed out to Waxahachie to the million dollar haunted houses. Ha, just kidding but they were expensive. I just don't necessarily get the thrill of feeling like at any second I could turn a corner and encounter a creepy white faced clown, or a crazy man with a chainsaw chasing after me in lung-constricting smoke while trying to somehow manage to escape a maze with my eyes closed and clinging on to whatever poor soul happens to be in front of me. Yeah, that is basically the experience I get out of haunted houses. I like to laugh, cry, all of those emotions that humans normally encounter throughout life, but fear is definately not one of the emotions that I like to add to my life unless it's absolutely necessary. There, I said it. I hate haunted houses.
The experience of having us all together though, was great and we had so much fun! Turns out I'm the scaredy cat of the bunch! Who'd a thunk it?!?! Here are our pics of the weekend! I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!

This is the sweater from my mom and dad! Doesn't he look so handsome?!

Okay, now this is what happens when JR takes my camera when I'm not looking...enjoy!

Here's a little story--at the haunted houses Saturday night, Scott decided he wanted to do a high kick on the gravel while we were all walking up to get in and maybe kicked a little hard and landed smack on his back....OH I cannot express in words what that fall looked like, but the best way to describe it would be like a bad ice skating fall...here's the morning after pic!!

Okay, now this one I may possibly get in trouble for but--HAHAHHAHAHAHAH Ashlee looks like she has 4 eyes! I figure it was fair game since in two days she'll be able to call me metal mouth for the next 9 months! Here goes...

Disclaimer** Ash, you said you wanted to make the blog :) LOVE YOU!

Braces :/

November 1st-----2 weeks from today I am getting my braces on. AH! I've been wanting braces for awhile now, because I want my teeth to be PERFECT. At my consultation the orthodontist told me the top ones would be on around 4 months, the bottom ones around 9. I'm trying to tell myself that's not that bad, but ugh. Most importantly, I'm really proud of myself for doing something like this on my own! Yay! I'm a big girl now (sarcasm)...and yes, you all have free reign to laugh at me all you want. A 23 yr old with braces. Cool.

Friends at the Farm

Isn't nice to finally show someone what you've been talking about for so long?? This past weekend, we finally took Lauren & Ricardo to the farm. We got there really late Friday night, because we stopped in Ponder for a quick dinner. We can't ever head up without stopping there lately! Saturday morning we got up and tried to make it to a donut shop, but with our scenic drive :) we didn't quite make it, so Sonic was our morning pit stop. You know JR can't just go home after that...he took us on a crazy ride on some dirt roads out by the lake! It was like a roller coaster!! We laughed so hard I got a six pack! JOKE! If we hadn't had guests, I would've taken my daily farm nap but I resisted and instead went and laid outside with Okie :) The boys started to play with all of Ronnie's guns, next think I know Lauren is over there shooting a 20-gauge! I hope I have that right?! I knew JR would be dissapointed if I didn't atleast try, but Lauren ended up being the girl champion shooter of the day! JR is still asking me why I couldn't shoot skeet like Lauren! Yeah, she showed me up! HA, funny. We all ended up with some bruised arms...good times. Now, for the REAL farm part---Nancy's home cooking! This time, the menu was Fried Chicken, Mashed Pots, Corn, Green Beans, and Rolls. YUM! Lauren even took a pic of the dinner table, because she said it looked like a grand feast!! I tooooold her so! After dinner we went and saw Talladega Nights, which we thought was super funny! I think Will Ferrell is hilarious! We might have to buy that one ;)

On Sunday we got up early and headed out towards the mountains. Our first stop was (my favorite) Meers!! We had delicious burgers and cobbler, like always. After that we drove them up to "the chapel" and they loved it and said that it was perfect :) **I happen to think so too**It was a cloudy, rainy day so most of the animals were up in the woods but we did manage to see a couple of turkeys and some deer, but no buffalo. Oh yeah, and one elk but from really far away. Medicine Park was our last stop and that is where we took most of our pics. The easiest way to describe what we did out there is to just post my pics of the day out there but I must also add my tragic fall down the bridge (JR thinks it is probably the funniest thing he has ever and will ever see in his whole entire life) it was pretty funny, but they got some pics of the aftermath. Enjoy, grr.

OU/TX 2006

No win for OU but it was still a fun weekend! Friday night was when I realized how old we'd become when suddenly the millions of drunk people, the OU/TX fights, and the inability to walk around without feeling like you're going to be arrested by one of the 10,000 Dallas police officers just didn't seem fun to us anymore. Funny how that used to be F-U-N to us just a few years ago...my how time has changed. (sigh of relief) The good times really started on Saturday! We watched the game in the comfort our own home, which was perfect so that we could just lay around and I napped a little! Once the game was over we got ready and drove out to Denton to meet Blake and Jennifer so that they could follow us to Ponder. We went and had dinner at Ranchman's! I'd never been on a Saturday night when it's actually full! It was so fun and delicious! Here's JR and Blake playing outside while we waited to be seated...

We had intended on going out somewhere in Uptown after dinner but we ended up just talking and hanging out until 4am! I think it was more fun doing that than going out to some loud, overcrowded bar. Sunday morning we all got up around 10am, actually the boys did and had to forcefully wake Jennifer and I up! Them 3 went down the street to West Village and walked around and got Starbucks while I showered and got ready. JR said they loved it down there because of all the life and the people out walking their dogs and stuff. We got to the fair around noon, and our first stop were the car shows (only b/c you had to go thru them to get to the food) we all know what my first stop would have been!! So, we headed to the corn dogs right after the cars!!

The coolest part of the whole fair I think was the Chevy test drive center! They had their whole line of vehicles out except for the Corvette, much to JR's dismay, and you could test drive any one of them as many times as you wanted! So, ofcourse our first drive was the brand new Silverado, and I truly think that when we were driving it, JR loved the truck more than me :) Then we drove the brand new Suburban! WOW! It was so beautiful. My heart is with the Tahoe but they were both amazing, and that will for sure be our next vehicle. MY next vehicle. HAHA! JR gets the Silverado. Blake and Jen also drove some of the smaller ones like this one-----> so funny! We got some really cool free backpacks (JR makes fun of me becuase I like them so much) and some t-shirts! So fun!

We rode some rides, which let me say, were WAY scarier than Six Flags. I would say that was mostly due to the fact that every time I got on one my only thoughts were visions of these massive rides being taken apart and put together every couple of weeks and never being inspected! Not to mention the creaks they make when they're swinging you 100 mph back and forth! AH! I was scared, but they really are some crazy fun rides! Now, my favorite parts was...can you guess???? The animals!! YAY! We went to the Cattle Barn and we saw the world's biggest bull. He was cute, and had floppy ears! I saw sooo many cute cows! We saw some donkeys and some mean horses. They didn't have Clydesdales this year, boo. All of this took about 5 hours, and we were ready to go home after that. We went home, cleaned up and took them to dinner at Mi Cocina! We sat outside, because the weather was perfect and we had such a great time! The food was great, and we watched all the people and cool cars go by.

It was a GREAT weekend! Blake and Jennifer are so much fun, and I know JR loved having one of his best friends here to see him! We were sad to see them go...

One more thing I wanted to add were some pictures that I've been playing with, I'll show the original and then the ones I've worked on. Hope you all like them!

Ashlee, this one's for you!

So, apparently checking our page has become one of Ashlee's daily rituals, soo we had to dedicate one to her! What a GREAT wknd we had! I was kind of sad at first heading up there because we were taking Okie to his new home, but the car ride up was so fun! He's the best puppy in the whole world! We picked him up from Ponder, and he was a little restless up until Bowie when we let him out and we played with him for 20 min or so. Being the precious, perfect dog that he is, he slept from there all the way home. His absolute favorite place to sleep is on his daddy's lap! Ronnie and JR built him a HUGE pen, which at first he wasn't totally sure about, but I think he'll grow to like it. We found out this morning, smarty pants found a sneaky little way out, so Ronnie had to put some barbed wire along the edge of the pen. Gosh, I miss him. He loves it out there though. JR and I took him down to Rock Bottom before we left so we could get some alone time with him, and he played in the water but he got a little scared when he realized some of the parts got a little deeper than others, awww. Nancy was taking him to the vet today to get rid of his fleas, so he'll be one happy pup after that!

We finally got some much needed family time!! I hadn't been up in a month! That's the longest I've been away since we've been together! I had the babies all day Saturday! They're not babies anymore though :( Baby boy is turning into a big boy now, and Emma is a little lady but she's still my lil partner. We took them to the Fall Carnival Saturday night, of which Emma wasn't too fond of. She kiiiinda liked it, but after about an hour she was over it, BUT Joseph on the other hand thought he'd found heaven on earth! Haha, he was soooo funny! I got some hilarious pictures of him! He got to play in one of those bounce things for the very first time and JR had
to go in there just to get him out! We also did the big slide with them, I took Emma & JR took Joseph. JR told him to put his hands up, and you'll see in the picture, he just completely released!!!! SO HILARIOUS! He is not afraid of anything at all! We had just as much fun as they did I think though!!

Now we're Uncle JR and Nata-we. They are both so sweet and loving, and next time we are gonna have to video them saying "Nata-we I love you" Oh, gosh so cute. Can't ever get enough of that!!

Well, on a sad note...my parents house got broken into while they were in Miami. They got home Sunday night and noticed some strange things open in the house, so we went straight over there last night. The scariest thing is, JR went over there Friday after work to go check the mail, and went in thru the garage. When he got to the door that goes from the garage to house, it was open about a foot. My dad left on Thursday morning and was the last one to leave, and he never ever does stuff like leave a door open, etc...JR called me immediately and told me something didn't feel right. He then went thru the front door and left it open while he went to check the mail, and that is when we think they left thru the window they came in. If JR hadn't been there, they would have prob wiped my parents out. They had doors open ready to take stuff, but it looks like they got scared when JR came in and surprised them. They broke the window in the back in the guest room, pulled it open and came in that way. They even managed to pull the window shade back down. Very scary. Dallas police came and found a hand print, so we're waiting to see if anything matches. I'm praying praying praying it does, but you never know. I feel sooo bad for my parents, but they're taking it pretty well. It was the ONE day the alarm wasn't set. So, now JR and I are getting an alarm for our house. I'm considering also getting two Rottweilers, maybe even some Dobermans too. I'm not sure I could put up much of a fight, except for maybe the baseball bat of Joe's, that he and JR think I would do more harm to myself trying to swing it, HAHA! So, please keep my parents in your prayers!

The last thing I have to share is a picture of our beautiful roses, the most beautiful I've ever seen! We got them at Bill's shop, the weekend Nancy and Ronnie came in town. I hope you all have a safe and happy week! We'll be at home this weekend going to the fair with Blake and Jennifer and watching some OU Football! Boomer Sooner!!!!
