Okie

Today is a bittersweet day...we're taking Okie to live at the farm. We got Okie about a week ago, and quickly realized he wasn't buying the city living! Luckily, Nancy and Ronnie offered to give him a place to run around and play. It was love at first sight :) He is so precious, and the smartest dog I have ever seen. I know that we would have been doing him an injustice having him live in a crate while we are at work, etc. He completely stole our hearts and he for sure loves his daddy! He took to JR so quickly and that's his lil buddy. We'll get to see him all the time, and he'll continue being our little baby boy!

Our busy, busy weekend!

Okay! So, we finally entertained at our house! My friend Lauren Edwards was in town from California so we had all made plans to maybe go out to dinner or meet at Starbucks, but we do that all the time. We were ready to have our friends over, so we invited everyone home! I called JR at work oh, probably six times telling him what we needed to get at the store after work, what we needed to clean, etc...he then went on to tell me that I needed to take one of my "tranquilizer" pills that the Dr. gave me when I had my ulcer. Ha, yeah I was freaking out! Everyone helped out-JR did the burger with Rico, Lauren R. made the margaritas since she's the Margarita Queen ;) Lauren E. cut up the lettuce and tomato, Clint was in and out helping everyone, and I did the fried potatoes. I was most scared about not making the potatoes just right, because I've never made them for so many people! Ha, it wasn't really that many people (it was 6) but that to me is like cooking for a small village. Lauren and Lauren both called me throughout the day telling me how excited they were to try these potatoes I talk about all the time, and they loved them. Honestly, they weren't as good as the first time I made them, but we did have an empty bowl at the end! I blame it on the size of pan I used, I definately needed a bigger one, haha. Yeah, that's what it was :) I made sure that Lauren E. brought her game of Catchphrase, and we moved the party over to the living room and played for about 2 hours. We laughed so hard playing that game! I must now display the pics I have of everyone's game faces!
Needless to say we had so much fun! We can't wait to have friends over again! This pic--> is of Lauren's "oh-gosh-how-am-i-gonna-do-this-one-face"! So funny!

I know I've been really slow about putting up pictures of the house, so I finally took some for you guys, even though most of you have seen it by now. We've made a lot of changes! Mom and dad's king size fit great in our bedroom so the my beloved bed got put in the guest room, ha! I finally had to part with my bed! We went to Home Depot the day after I took these so even the pictures aren't fully up to date but atleast you get the idea...Hope you like it!

To finish off our weekend, we went to the Cowboy game Sunday night with my dad! Gosh, it was SO fun! JR laughs at me because I get kind of star struck with T.O.! I'm just that sucker that watches these guys on tv, and then when I see them in real life I go nuts! NFL games are so diff from college games because they are SO intense and way more aggressive. JR had never been to a Cowboy game so he was super excited! It was nice to be there with my dad too :) I'm sure you guys a pictured out! but here are a couple more from the game! Nancy and Ronnie are coming to visit us this weekend, then we're coming up the weekend after to take the babies to the Fall Carnival at Central! Hope you all have a great weekend! Love love!

He's coming home!!

We spent our first wknd apart in a LOOONG time! It was much needed time away, not because of anything bad, but we all need that time to ourselves every now and then. Before we moved in together, Holly told me cherish the time you have alone because you will understand later on how important that time alone becomes. I didn't believe her then :) but I do now. Although, I must say JR likes it alot more than I do ;) I'm good with a day or so, but after that I start to miss him very very much. I'm a sap...

I also am using this to make a correction---in my last posting of Miami pics, I mistakenly uploaded a picture of JRm and it came out really small. I'm not used to this thing yet and don't know how to delete pictures, so I left it only to come home to, " Why is the only picture of me by myself so tiny??" "Huh Nat?" Soooooo, to fix this: (see new pic)----->

Nat

We're back to a land with no palm trees or ocean waves...we thought about just "missing" our flight home, but that was short-lived when we woke up and remembered WORK! Oh yeah! That silly thing called work that we have to come home for. I'm still banking on winning either the TX or OK state lottery! ha!

Our trip was so so wonderful! We beach-hopped, slept, shopped and ate a ton! All of that with our great friends, Lauren & Ricardo. We shared some funny memories, most spent while everyone was laughing at me, not with me :) Jk! We apparently don't wake up early enough for the Neaves' so every morning for them was an adventure on how they could wake us up. It eventually came down to some water on my face, and a ping-pong to the forehead. Oh yes, all happened to me. Miami is notorious for short-lived moments at the beach seeing as how it rains more than it shines in the so-called "sun-shine" state, so beach days were lovely yet limited. We'd get out there, get all nestled in with our coolers, towels and some drinks and sure enough the mother of all storms would roll in. I loved it though, because the rain makes me reaaaaaly nappy so it'd give me an excuse to go back, open all the balcony doors and sleep to the rain with my baby :) Moments I love! Miami this year, marked our one year anniversary and it was just nuts to look back over the last year and look at how many memories we've made, how many people I now consider family that I didn't even know prior to this year! I felt so lucky to have my best friends in the whole entire world there with me who have known me forever and can truly appreciate seeing me happy and in love (especially since I've seen them in love for 123,426 years now) It was an amazing trip overall, and a much needed one for all of us. Sometimes it's just necessary to get away, wherever it may be to relax and step back from all your daily worries and the routine that life demands. It allows for a refreshing start on things and a little excitement for what the next year holds!

We hope to come up soon to see you all, but I've come home with some sort of stomach flu so I may not be up for another wknd or so. Hope all is well wherever you may be! We send you lots of love!

One year & One day!

We have been together for one year & one day! Ha, our one year is here! It was a neat weekend for us to look back to all the neat memories we've made together with all of our family and friends. From our carefree days, driving ALL over Oklahoma and Texas to our new home, and our new life...what a year its been. You could have never made either one of us believe all that has happened for us since last August but I know I wouldn't trade it for anything in the whole entire world. I've known J.R. for 5 years now, but I've gotten to see such a different side of him. One that is full of love, sincerity and honor. He is a wonderful person, and I feel so entirely blessed to get to share this journey of life with him. Our life feels like a movie, we always say but no movie goes without it's ups and downs. We've had our moments just like everyone else, but I find myself truly feeling lucky at the end of they day that I get to laugh, cry, eat, sleep, fight, and make-up, all with my absolute best friend in the whole world. I guess when you do it on God's time, it just works out.

We started out our anniversary on Sunday in Ponder, TX for lunch at Ranchmans, our favorite little steakhouse. We've been going out there ever since we first got together, so we felt like we needed to start the day there. From there, we headed down to the Stockyards in Fort Worth b/c JR had never been and he loved it!! We walked around, shopped a little and sat down for a beer in one of those true Fort Worth Cowboy bars! It was really neat :) We then headed home, and incidentally happened to go help my parents at the airport b/c their car wouldn't start but that gave us some time to see how their weekend trip to see Alex in Stillwater went. Once they were good to go, we went home got ready and finished off our perfect day with dinner at THE BALL! We got all dressed up and went to the restaurant around 8 when the sun was setting over Dallas, and by the time we got our food it was completely dark out and they had some neat music playing and we just enjoyed each other and smiled and laughed at how silly and giddy I get! Haha! I am the luckiest girl in the world! No wait?! He's the luckiest guy in the world, ha :) I

It's not Friday yet?

Exciting news for all of our visitors!! We now have a bed in the guest room for you! YAY! We got my parents' king size for our room, and moved our queen to the office, making it into the guest room once and for all. Our new bed is HUGE! We're not quite used to it yet, our new Texas size bed! I think JR likes it more than I do, because he finally has room to sprawl out. *I'm a snuggler* I'm still getting used to the idea that he's half way across the room. The mattress was so firm that we didn't sleep well the first night (our other bed is like a big poof) so last night we went and bought a new poofy matress topper, THEN on top of that we found a memory foam topper for half off!!! That dang foam though is weird, and it is currently in it's "unmolding" stage. It does what those little toys do that you put in water and wait for them to expand, except without the water part. Bad analogy, sorry! But, you get what I'm trying to say! It should be done "growing" by tonight. Ha, how weird. I will post pictures of the new bed tomorrow, so you all can see the new gargantuan bed. Also, you guys now have no reason to come and visit since we have that other bed for you!! We expect many visitors after this posting :)

Okay, enough about beds! JR is still really liking his job! Him and Henda really clicked personality-wise and hopefully he'll get on here soon so I can let him tell you about the job in more detail. I got a raise yesterday to $12/hr. It's still not even what JR makes, but it's gonna really help us out! Hopefully by the end of the year I'm eligible for another one! We will be staying here this weekend, probably just hanging out with friends. My parents will be up in Stillwater visiting Alex. JR and I are hoping to make it up there soon to see his new house. Okay, I guess I'll get back to work now! Hope you all are having a great week! We send you guys lots of love!

Thank you, thank you!

I want to say thank you first to Nancy and all of JR's family and Cody & Holly for making my "farm" birthday so special! It was so nice to spend time with everyone and to have such a great weekend with my second family :) You all mean so much to me and helped make that one of the best birthday's ever! This past weekend we were busy once again, surprise! We had Scott and Brandon in on Friday night, along with my brother. We went and saw a movie, not one Alex was very fond of, ha! JR either! We spent most of Saturday with my family, helping my mom do some stuff then had our family dinner out in Frisco. JR finished off my amazing birthday with the most stunning diamond cross necklace, WOW! I couldn't believe it! I can't wait to show all of you! It's going to count as a bday/anniversary gift! I joked that it was so beautiful that it would continue counting until next Christmas, ha! Now, how do I top that?? We're leaving for Miami on August 31, so that's kind of our anniversary gifts to each other. It is almost exactly one year to the day that we went last year, and fell in LOVE! Haha, JR's gonna love that! It's going to be a really special trip for us. *I must make a important announcement* Last night for dinner.....drumroll....I made Nancy's fried potatoes!!!! AND THEY WERE SO GOOD! Yay! I did it! I'm really proud of myself, HA! I had to throw that in there. Okay, sorry. Yesterday was JR's first day with Henda, and he worked all day with her and it seems like this is really a good place for him. We've been out looking at some beautiful homes together, it is so fun! He'll probably order his online courses within the next week or two, and I'm probably going to study along with him. I got a little long-winded this time! We may be up this weekend, but we won't know until later on in the week. Miss you all so much! LOVE!

Our life!

Well, since we live so far from all of you I copied this idea from Holly (thanks Holly!) on an easy way that we could keep you guys updated on what's going on down in Dallas! It's been a busy summer so far, but we finally are starting to feel like our house is a home. Everything is pretty much how we want it now, and I'll have to post some pictures for you all to see! Our next big purchase I think will be some curtains for our enormous windows in the living room, since we have some ridiculous electric bills. We spent last wknd at the farm, well really all over the place. Made a quick stop in Ninnekah to see the Victery's but since they had to go on to Fletcher we didn't get enough time with the babies. I guess we always feel that way! We always went them longer than we have them. JR has been busy this week meeting with Henda, the lady that is interested in getting JR on with her and her growing real estate book. It's been such a blessing for this opportunity to have opened up and we both feel so right about this. Choosing this job is going to be a huge committment but I know he has support coming from all of his family and friends, and that helps so so much. I'm getting braces put on soon ( I chose to do them) so I've been spending more than enough time at the dentist getting my teeth "ready" for those awful braces. On a good note, my orthodontist said I'd have them on 9 months max. Oh gaw. I'm sure I'll regret this later, ha! We miss you all and hope to see you soon!
